Game day again and I wanted to get a photo of the whole family in our Highland gear. Unfortunately, I forgot until we got home and there was no one to take our picture. Sure, we could have set up the auto timer, but who's got that extra 3 minutes to spare?!?! I mean, seriously!! For today, the kids will have to do.
It's amazing what a person can do with a laser printer.......Vivi has Scot football team apparel just like the Bullets onesie. If we were a bigger school, there may be size 6-9 month Highland Scot stuff, but for now, the $5 I had to spend to make this shirt is about all I'll be shelling out.
*Oh, and yes, that spot on her back IS exploded baby poop. I knew you were thinking it.....

I thought I'd share some proof of Vivi loving (not) the applesauce.

What the hell did you stick in my mouth?!

Now THAT'S more like it. A fresh green onion. Mmmmmmmm............
No lie. She had onion breath after this. My infant had onion breath !!! So very wrong.

As I mentioned in a previous post, it's football time! I'm pretty sure this is Jay's last year. He said the only reason he agreed to football this season was because he knew Max would annoy the hell out of him if he didn't. He gets some decent playing time, but mostly jacks around on the bench with his buds. In all honesty, he'd rather be on the sidelines most the game, anyway. He gets upset when bigger guys hit him and throw him to the ground. Um....ye-ah. I would too!!!!! I can't blame him. This sport is not for the faint of heart and Jay's heart is pure and sweet. I would rather he stay that way, so I say next year, let's try guitar or soccer.

This is Al's first year cheering. She picks up the cheers really fast. I believe that's because she cheers for Vivian .....all... the... time. I go to bed with cheers in my head and wake up with those same cheers in my head. But, she's having fun and that's pretty awesome.

As I mentioned before, this is Max's first year as QB. It was a very dramatic start to the season with all the indecision and pressure. He is having a great time with the new position and is good at it. The JV team has won their last two games 32-0 and 21-0.

....And he can still run for touchdowns like last season. :)

Cody's home.

We brought Cody home on Saturday. He had(s) navicular bone disease. Don't expect me to explain it. All I know is that they removed about an inch and a half of the nerve in his hoof. He walks about 90% better than he did 5 days ago. We will have to keep his leg/hoof wrapped in various stages for the next couple weeks. This is by no means a guarantee he's out of the woods . We will keep our fingers crossed!

Normally, if the horse has NBD in one leg, it will develop in the other, so they did both.
The vet was amazing. He came in on his day off to see Cody off. He apologized for not being able to give us a definitive answer as to why Cody was so lame. (I'm not being mean. Lame as in gimpy, handicapped, limping, not walking normal. Geesh.) He thinks there may be something else going on, but just can't find the true cause. Most horses with this NBD don't have as hard of a time as Cody has.

Cody waits while Eric checks out. I have yet to ask how the payments were arranged. There's just no good time to ask for bad news........

This is Cody after he heard Dixie in the trailer. He was quiet until he heard her. After that, he was calling out every minute. The vet techs and/or students all came by to let us know he didn't do that once while he was there. They were sure he was letting us know he was ready to go home. Again, they all came to say goodbye. At first, I suspected they tell all the owners that theirs was the best horse ever. However, by the time we left, I had to think that they all just fell in love with him as we did.

Here are a few photos of Vivian. We're just starting to introduce baby foods and I can safely say she is not a fan of them at this stage.
Almost sitting up completely by herself.

A rare moment of joy in the swing. She's not usually a fan of the swing, either.

Cody goes to college!! Equine Vet College, that is......

Yes, we thought Cody was getting better, but we were wrong. Cody began limping worse after getting better for a very short time. We called in the vet who told us he needed to go to OSU Vet Clinic.

First, kudos to Dixie for being the chaperone horse. Cody only loads into the trailer with another horse in there first. She enjoyed the ride to Columbus (or at least that's what we told her) "You WILL enjoy this ride. Eat your hay and be quiet. Cody needs you to be strong, so no calling out. Good girl!!" What?! You doubt that conversation actually took place???

The vet and techs were very impressed with Cody. They said he was the most stoic horse they'd seen. He didn't complain while they were poking and prodding. He is stoic, sweet, wonderful and fabulous.
Eric said the techs were at his head stroking him while the vet was looking him over. He nearly fell asleep. Yep, that's our Cody!!! We'll have them get him therapy for his narcolepsy while he's there......

We don't know how long he'll be there. It all depends on the xrays they'll take on Tuesday. The vet didn't seem to think he needed them right away. They wrapped his leg to get the swelling down and will go from there. I remain positive. He WILL get better!!!!

*The rolling terd looks a little out of place in this very fancy, pretty place. We're kinda used to that now. Our rusty old trailer amongst prettiness. LOL!!!
